New Orleans Holiday Celebration

On Tuesday, December 19th PeyBack Foundation representatives flew to New Orleans to spread the PeyBack Spirit to Peyton’s home town.  Representatives started their visit by hosting a holiday party at the Louisiana Children’s Museum in New Orleans.  The Foundation invited 3rd and 4th graders from Andrew Jackson School in St. Bernard Parish to have unlimited access to the museum.  Lunch was provided, as were gifts (long sleeve Foundation tee shirts, books, socks and tote bags) for all in attendance.

The New Orleans Holiday Celebration continued at the NFL YET (Youth Education Town) Center, where a pizza party was held for about 40 teenagers.  NFL YET centers are established in Super Bowl host cities and meet the community’s needs by providing educational assistance, job training, technical education, life skills development, and recreational outlets for disadvantaged youth.  The New Orleans NFL YET sustained devastating damages following Hurricane Katrina and services discontinued for over a year.  The Center reopened their doors on September 19, 2006 and the PeyBack Foundation is proud to support their continued commitment to the youth of New Orleans.

As enjoyable as the evening is for all the kids, no one has more fun than Peyton.  He made sure to take a trip down the Yule Slide while visiting with his youngest fans.

Knoxville Holiday Celebration

On Thursday, November 30 representatives from the PeyBack Foundation traveled south to Peyton’s college football home of Knoxville, Tennessee to host holiday parties for local children.  The first stop was to Beaumont Elementary School near downtown Knoxville, where Peyton Manning used to visit and read to students when he attended the University of Tennessee.  The PeyBack Foundation visited the 1st grade students at Beaumont and brought along two special guests from the University of Tennessee, Quarterback Erik Ainge and Defensive Back Antwan Stewart.  The UT football players signed autographs for the students, while the PeyBack Foundation representatives distributed gifts to each student, including gloves, a #18 scarf, a long-sleeve t-shirt, and a book.  The kids were thrilled that Christmas had come early and gave lots of cheers for their favorite “hometown hero,” Peyton Manning!

The next stop in Knoxville was the local Boys and Girls Club where the PeyBack Foundation representatives hosted a pizza party for 175 teenagers.  Each youth in attendance was given gloves, a long-sleeve t-shirt, a #18 scarf, and a Reebok hooded sweatshirt. The PeyBack Foundation is proud to support the Boys and Girls Club of the Tennessee Valley, an exceptional organization that distributes over 505,000 USDA hot meals and snacks annually and has 17 Club facilities throughout the area providing services to an average of 1,358 youth every day.
