PEYBACK CLASSIC X SET FOR FRIDAY, AUGUST 21 –

CLASSIC KICKS OFF IHSAA SEASON

PeyBack Classic X will be played on Friday, August 21 at the Lucas Oil Stadium. The Classic will kick off the Indiana High Football season and will feature Greenwood vs Columbus East in the evening opener (6:05 pm start) followed by Lebanon vs. Mooresville (30 minutes after first game ends) in the final game.

We are excited to announce in addition to the two evening games, in recognition of the Classic’s 10th Anniversary, we have invited two IPS schools, Tech and Arlington to participate in a 3:30 afternoon game. We are pleased that these two teams will be the first IPS schools to have the opportunity to play in Lucas Oil Stadium. The Foundation and our corporate sponsors are supporting the efforts of Dr, Eugene White of IPS in providing tickets to several hundred students to attend the first game.

Peyton Manning launched the PeyBack Classic in 2000, enabling IPS high schools to play a regular season game in the RCA Dome. In 2004, the Foundation invited other schools to have the opportunity to play. Terre Haute South, North Central, Lawrence North, Warren Central, Carmel, Roncalli, Chatard, Zionsville, Hamilton Southeastern, Cathedral, Tipton, Sheridan, Lafayette Jefferson, Fishers, Hamilton Southeastern, Whiteland and New Palestine high schools have participated in past PeyBack Classics and now are playing in Lucas Oil Stadium.

The PeyBack Foundation, along with its official sponsors (AirTran, American Family Insurance, Kraft, MasterCard, NERF Footballs, Reebok, Sony, Sprint, St. Vincent Health and Zurich) will be responsible for all expenses of the event, including the rental of Lucas Oil Stadium. Sport Graphics is a game night sponsor and the Foundation serves as the event organizer.

Manning established the PeyBack Foundation in 1999 to help disadvantaged youth build a successful future for themselves and accomplishes its mission through helping established community-based programs provide fundamental leadership and growth opportunities for kids. The PeyBack Foundation focuses its efforts in a three state region and has donated more than $3 million to youth organizations in Indiana, Tennessee and Louisiana since its inception.

This year the evening games will be broadcasted live on MyNDY-TV Channel 23.

Advanced tickets for the event will be available at the participating schools at the mid July.
